Victoria Beckham has defended her “disciplined” diet after her husband David said she only ate fish and vegetables.
“Talk about making me look boring!” the singer said in a new interview with Vogue Australia.
According to the former Spice Girls member, she’s “pretty extreme” in everything she does.
Victoria Beckham has defended her strict diet in a new interview with Vogue Australia, after her husband David said earlier this year that she ate only fish and vegetables.
“Talk about making me look boring!” the former Spice Girls member said in the interview, according to Huffington Post UK. “What he meant was that he’s never met anyone who was more disciplined with the way they eat.”
According to Beckham, she “eats a lot of healthy fats: fish, avocado, nuts, that kind of stuff,” and also drinks alcohol regularly unless she has a “reason not to.”
“I’m pretty extreme in everything I do, whether it’s eating or working out, drinking or not drinking,” the fashion designer revealed.
Beckham also told Vogue Australia that her workout routine consists of Pilates, uphill runs on a treadmill and intense weight training sessions, according to Huffington Post UK.
In February, David opened up about his wife’s eating habits during an appearance on iHeart’s “River Cafe Table 4” podcast.
“I’m very moved by food and wine. When I eat something good, I want everyone to try it,” the 46-year-old former athlete told chef Ruthie Rogers.
He continued: “Unfortunately I have been married to someone who has eaten the same thing for 25 years. Since I met Victoria she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables. She walks away will very seldom deviate.”
According to David, his wife has only deviated from her favorite meal on one occasion that he can remember.
“Probably the only time she shared something that was on my plate was when she was pregnant with Harper, and that was the most amazing thing,” he recalled. “It was one of my favorite nights. I can’t remember what it was, but I know she hasn’t eaten one since.”
The couple first met in 1997, when David was playing for Manchester United and Victoria was a member of the Spice Girls. They married in 1999 and have four children together: Brooklyn, 23; Romeo, 19; Cruz, 17; and Harper, 10.
