The World Cup is coming to North America in 2026, and Kansas City has reduced locations to host some of the games, sources told KMBC’s Micheal Mahoney on Wednesday night. The World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world, eclipsing the Super Bowl. More than a dozen cities in the United States are in the running. FIFA visited Kansas City in October to meet with city leaders. Some of the matches will take place in Canada and Mexico. Power & Light is hosting a watch party on Thursday afternoon. The announcement will be broadcast live starting at 4 p.m.
