Melanie Lynskey is married to yellow jackets‘ biggest fan.
The actress, 45, told PEOPLE her husband Jason Ritter would “lose his mind” for a chance to make an appearance on the hit Showtime series as she appeared at a For Your Consideration event on Saturday for the show at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
“He would do anything, I think. He really would,” Lynskey said. “I mean, I want them to choose whoever they want. I’m never going to impose my husband on them. But they should know he would in a second.”

Ritter, 42, and Justin Timberlake have previously made a double-husband appearance on Hulu’s Candy, which starred Lynskey and Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel. The true-crime miniseries tells the story of 1908s housewife Candy Montgomery (Biel) who killed her neighbor Betty Gore (Lynskey) with an axe.
During Saturday’s event, Lynskey revealed that Sophie Nélisse, who plays her role yellow jackets the character’s teenage counterpart, offered her babysitting services for the couple’s 3½-year-old daughter.
“She’s so awesome. I love her so much and I feel very lucky because she’s so talented. In yellow jackets, Lynskey and Nélisse, 22, play Shauna at two different points in her life. The show follows a high school girls’ soccer team whose plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness in 1996, leaving them stranded for 19 months. Another timeline follows the young women as today’s adults, grappling with their trauma and protecting their secret about what happened in the woods.

“It was so overwhelming. I’m not used to it. I’m not used to things having such a long shelf life after they come out,” Lynskey said of the show’s success, adding: “But it’s crazy. People are really reacting. It’s wonderful.”
