Legendary WWE Superstar John Cena has seemingly broken his silence after reports of his marriage made headlines over the weekend
The former world champion held a public ceremony with his wife, Shay Shariatzade, in Vancouver. The couple married in secret on October 20, 2020, and two years later celebrated with close family and friends.
TMZ Sports shared photos from the ceremony in which the couple was seen entering a building. While Cena was in the ceremony, his wife Shay wore a beautiful white dress. There were conflicting reports of the two possibly being there for rehearsal, but the WWE Superstar’s latest tweet may end all speculation:
“Yes,” read his tweet.
Fans rushed to congratulate him on social media and sent their best wishes to the famous star. Cena and Shay Shariatzadeh have been together since early 2019, and the couple’s well-wishers are happy to learn of their second marriage.
Update on behind-the-scenes plans for John Cena’s return to WWE
Last month marked the 20th anniversary of John Cena’s professional wrestling debut. He made a brief appearance on RAW to celebrate with fans, where he was embroiled in a backstage showdown with Theory.
Prior to his return, the rookie sensation shot the world champion 16 times as he claimed to be the “best version” of Cena. The creative team reportedly planned a match between them at SummerSlam.
However, a recent behind-the-scenes update suggests the match has been rescheduled for next year’s WrestleMania. For now, Theory hopes to cash in his Money in the Bank contract at SummerSlam and become the youngest world champion in WWE history.
But before that, he will have a chance to collect his United States Championship rematch against Bobby Lashley on the same night.
