As one of our favorite TikTok creators, Food Network star Valerie Bertinelli never fails to make us smile. But like us, she’s not always the best at understanding the tricks of the trade. In fact, the Valérie’s home cooking the author was super relatable when she asked fans for help in making better videos.

In February, Valerie took to the social media platform to share the latest happenings in her personal life with her followers. But in trying to get into the details, she came across a major problem. She didn’t know how to add more time to the clip before the app hilariously cut her.

“I have a multitude of thoughts or thoughts or whatever I wanted to say here. Because TikTok is different from… Oh, I’m running out of time,” Valerie said realizing her mistake. “Must I add – yes. I suppose so. Hmm. So this is what’s happening?

Oh, poor Valerie! It was definitely a mix of emotions watching her struggle to figure out her mistake – equal parts laughter and shock. Luckily, her dedicated fans came to the rescue because by the time she filmed her next TikTok a few days later, she was able to extend the length of the video.

“Thank you for all your help, everyone. Yes, I chose three minutes,” she said in the second clip before tapping the screen several times. “But here’s the thing: why do I see people doing this all the time? To keep time going? What is it? What is it?”

Valerie continued, “Anyway, I forgot what my thoughts were. So I guess it really doesn’t matter. So I’ll be back when I have something to say. Thank you for everything. your help.”

LOL. Like Valerie, we honestly don’t understand all the tact either. But fans have offered her theories as to why other creators might be doing this, which makes a lot of sense.

“They’re pausing their videos to gather their thoughts or move on to their next point. This is so they don’t ramble. Try it! Got this. 🥰,” one fan wrote in the comments. “Hi Valerie! They’re touching their phones because it’s dark and they still want to be able to see themselves recording,” another replied. “They stop and start again 🥰 you can take a break and collect your thoughts before starting again… you are doing great and inspiring 👍 😁,” another follower replied.
